MICHEL REIJNEN
Professor Michel Reijnen brings extensive surgical expertise and pioneering research to Flux Robotics. With a distinguished career at Rijnstate since 2007, he completed his surgical training in Arnhem in 2003 and served as a surgical trainer at Rijnstate from 2009 to 2017. Earlier, he honed his skills as a surgeon at Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden, focusing on vascular and lung surgery. In 2002, he earned his Ph.D. from the Catholic University of Nijmegen with a groundbreaking thesis on the effects of hyaluronan on intra-abdominal adhesion and abscess formation.
Professor Reijnen has authored over 100 scientific publications and mentored numerous Ph.D. candidates, underscoring his commitment to advancing medical science. Since September 2018, he has also served as a professor within the M3I group at the University of Twente’s Faculty of Science and Technology, regularly contributing to international symposia and workshops. Notably, he conducted Flux Robotics’ inaugural animal trial at UMC Utrecht with Prof. Bob Geelkerken, cementing his role in driving clinical innovation and ensuring our solutions are at the forefront of medical technology.
